Lahore – 31 Aug, 2020 – Shams Power (Private) Limited and Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited have partnered to convert Hyundai’s automobile manufacturing plant to green power, with an initial solar capacity of 1MWp.
Under this agreement, Shams Power will deploy 1MWp solar power system on pilot basis at Hyundai’s facility, contributing around 1.3MWh of Clean Energy in their electricity mix and saving of roughly 775,000 kg of carbon emissions every year. This is equivalent to replacing approximately 2,000 barrels of gasoline or equivalent to replacing approximately 0.8 million pounds of coal burned.
The contract was signed by Mr. Hassan Mansha (CEO, Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited) and Mr. Omar Malik (CEO, Shams Power (Private) Limited) at the head office of Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited in Lahore.
